1930/40s American Pink Satin Full Length Evening Gown
Stunning Evening Gown dating from the 1930/40s era.
Label Fonnesbech AARHUS
Made from a dusky pink slipper satin fabric. The colour has an aged patina all over varying from dusky pink, pale gold and purple hues it gives in a rich colour that changes in the light.
Gathered sweetheart neckline with gathered puffy short sleeves.
Metal side zipper - missing its pull but works fine.
Two Enormous stiffened pockets with ruffle edge and sequin detail.
Flared skirt.
Condition - apart from the colour variant which i think looks good there are a few flaws. I hand washed the dress as it was filthy and the sequins which are made from gelatine have dissolved and melted in places! I managed to save it in time just. It isn’t particularly obvious unless you look really closely. There are several darker marks on the hem line discolouration and there are also some on the sleeves again not particularly noticeable.
The dress is structurally strong and very wearable.
